About the Artist:Lao Tizer is a Colorado-born, LA-based keyboardist, composer, and bandleader known for blending jazz with influences from classical, world, soul, and contemporary music. Inspired by artists like Miles Davis and Pat Metheny, Tizer has developed a signature sound rooted in melodic compositions, improvisation, and genre-crossing creativity. Over the years, The Lao Tizer Band has featured acclaimed musicians including Eric Marienthal, Karen Briggs, Chieli Minucci, Gene Coye, and Munyungo Jackson, performing at renowned venues and festivals such as the Hollywood Bowl Jazz Festival, Cape Town Jazz Festival, and Java Jazz Festival. His albums have earned critical acclaim, including Billboard Contemporary Jazz chart success. Joining pianist, composer, and bandleader Lao Tizer for the evening are Elliott Yamin, Anthony Crawford — Rolling Stone’s “2022 Bassist of the Year” nominee known for his work with Allan Holdsworth and Erykah Badu — and acclaimed percussionist Joey De Leon Jr.. A classically trained graduate of the Manhattan School of Music, De Leon has performed with Poncho Sanchez, Arturo Sandoval, and Gordon Goodwin’s Big Phat Band, bringing a dynamic blend of Latin, jazz, and contemporary influences to the stage. Together, this all-star ensemble takes audiences on a musical journey through an exciting range of styles, grooves, and modern jazz fusion.
