Two learned Jewish leaders and secret disciples of Jesus: Joseph, a rich member of the Sanhedrin, and Nicodemus, a Pharisee who first came to Jesus by night. Overcoming their fear, together they anointed and buried Jesus in the tomb Joseph had intended for himself. A Roman Catholic memorial.
