Ramadan in SLO County
February 8 to March 8, 2027, beginning at sundown on February 7. The exact date depends on the moon sighting and may shift by a day.
Ramadan is the month of fasting from dawn to sunset. The Islamic Society of San Luis Obispo County and the Cal Poly Muslim Student Association host nightly iftar meals to break the fast and taraweeh prayers afterwards, and both regularly welcome non-Muslim guests at an interfaith iftar during the month. Fasting hours shift as the month moves through the calendar.
