Good Friday is the quietest day in the church year and the most widely observed across SLO County. Catholic parishes hold the afternoon liturgy at three o'clock, many churches walk the Stations of the Cross, and Protestant congregations gather for Tenebrae by candlelight in the evening. Downtown San Luis Obispo has also seen ecumenical outdoor processions in past years.
